There is a particular quiet at Oriole, the kind you only get above the Strip when the city stills for a moment and the basin opens up at your feet. The Bird Streets carry their own weight in Los Angeles: the way the lots step down the canyon, the way every move on the site negotiates with a view corridor someone is paying to protect.

A comprehensive remodel and addition, delivered as Project Designer in 2002 and 2003. An early Los Angeles chapter that already understood what the canyon was asking for. The defining move was a framed jetliner view, held by an infinity-edge pool that pulls the eye out to the basin and lets the architecture step back into the slope.

A Bird Streets address is a conversation about restraint, and about knowing when to trust the view.
